A consumer pain point with home security is that an expensive contract is part of most service offerings. Abode has made a system that frees people from contracts but still offers advanced functionality of a professional solution that's easy to set up and use by anyone.

What we did

Matter was involved from the inception of Abode when an ex-executive from ADT wanted to make professional-grade security systems more accessible to all. This early partnership allowed us to define the brand's entire visual and physical presence from the beginning. We created a design language system that carried over from the brand to the physical products. The 50/50 black-and-white aesthetic represents protection 24/7, day and night. The logo depicts an abstracted dove, a symbol of peace. In designing every touchpoint for the brand, we had the rare and fulfilling opportunity to bring a brand vision to life across physical products, digital interfaces, and packaging.
